A rare 15-feet king cobra was rescued from a house in Similipal Tiger Reserve in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district by a snake-charmer on Monday.
According to initial reports, the area’s snake helpline sent a team to rescue the rare serpent. Snake charmer Krushna Chandra, the rescue-member who caught the snake said that he had caught thousands of snakes but only five like these.
Rescuers have now left the cobra in a nearby forest.
Though their average length is 10 to 13 feet, King Cobras can reach a length of 18 feet – that is three six-foot tall men put together.
